This report is based upon data drawn from two NetDiligence datasets. The Cyber Claims dataset, provided by NetDiligence’s insurance partners, contains costs associated with 1,400 ransomware events dating from 2017-2020. The Ransomware Incident dataset, provided by NetDiligence’s incident response partners, contains detail on over 800 ransomware events dated in 2020 and 2021. This dataset includes information on sector, malware variant, intrusion methods, initial and final ransom amounts, and forensics costs.
